Welcome to the 2nd Online Edition of the Sophia Journal!!

It is with great happiness we bring you this second edition of the online journal “Sophia”. The theme of this issue is BEAUTY – and we are delighted with all of the contributions and contributors, and especially honored to feature the art of our dear friend and co-researcher in Sacred Service and Spiritual Psychology, Dr. Jo Alice Leeds. We have known and worked with Jo for many years now, and have had the great joy of seeing her paintings on numerous occasions in her home, the homes of friends, and at various gallery openings. Happily, it is now our great fortune to be able to display a few of these works on our own walls.
The articles you are about to read are varied and offer insight and inspiration from the voices of many masters of poetry, philosophy and theology, as well as the immediacy of phenomenological description of everyday and uncommon experience. Reading through them you will find yourself not just hearing or learning about Beauty, but actually immersed in and participating with Beauty. With all in the world that would counter Beauty through chilling harshness, demanding instantaneous or empty activity, we invite you to linger here, to dwell with ideas and images, to read not just words or text, but to step into streams of ideas in which you may find friendly companions, and so to spend a few hours with Beauty, that you may be renewed. For in these words Beauty has found a harbor, and from them she will pour into your heart and soul to dance and sing with you. In these dark winter days we are thrilled and honored to send you such warmth and light as has gathered together here in this small collection.
