Greeting
and Welcome to the latest edition of the
This
edition takes up the heart of the work of Spiritual Psychology, the nature of
Sophia. From 1992, when the School
began, we have sought to stay awake, and awaken others, to the hidden gestures
in the world, the invisible weaving together of all things, the soul and the
spirit of the lost Sophia. In 1995
we inaugurated a series of conferences called “A New Heaven, A New Earth;
Re-Imagining the World in the Light of Sophia”.
These conferences had a specific theme each year, such as The Healing Field of the Soul, Re-Imagining Death in the Light of Sophia, The Mysteries of Silence, among others. In 1997 we recognized that there are certain people in the world who bear, through their work, relationships, their very being, the Sophianic that would remain completely hidden, except for the times it peeks out at us, thanks mostly to the presence of these remarkable people. These individuals are the most precious treasures of our time, and are the weavers of soul that keep the world from falling into darkness. Seeking to recognize and honor this aspect of their being, we began presenting the “Sophia Award” as a gesture to the spiritual world that says, “we see what wondrous gifts you have given us, and thank you for their presence among us.”
We
dedicate this issue of the Sophia Journal to this select group of remarkable
friends, teachers, collaborators, and creators of the world. We thank you for all you have given toward
re-imagining the world, in the light of Sophia.
